Email

Your dropbox is a unique email address that helps simplify the process of getting your email correspondence into KarmaCRM. It is NOT an email address that replaces your existing one.

  • What is a dropbox address, where do I find mine?
  • How do I forward, CC, or BCC emails to KarmaCRM?
  • How do I get emails sent from a contact into KarmaCRM?

What is a dropbox address, where do I find mine?

You can use your dropbox to forward, CC, or BCC emails to your karmaCRM account. This email address can be used to automatically pull in emails to and from contacts. If you CC or BCC the dropbox address when sending an email to a contact, Karma will automatically attach the email to the correct contact. If the contact doesn't exist, Karma will try and create it.

To find your dropbox address, click the “My Info” link on the bottom right corner of the page. Your dropbox address will be listed in the right menu. It should look something like dropbox@3.demo.karmacrm.com.

How do I forward, CC, or BCC emails to KarmaCRM?

Each user receives a unique dropbox address. You can attach an email to the appropriate contact (as a note in your account) by adding your dropbox email address in the CC or the BCC field. If the contact you are emailing doesn't exist in your account, KarmaCRM will create it.

How do I create a task via email?

To create a task using an email you should send an email to one of the special task dropbox addresses listed in the "My info" section of your app. You should include the task as the subject of the email. For example, if you want to create a task named “Finalize the contract” due tomorrow, enter task+tomorrow@your-dropbox in the "To" field and the "Finalize the contract" in the "Subject" field.

  • task+today@your-dropbox

  • task+tomorrow@your-dropbox

  • task+later@your-dropbox

Associating forwarded emails with Cases & Deals

You can add an instruction to an email to associate the email to a specific case or deal. This can be done by forwarding the email to your dropbox address.

To direct an email to a specific case or deal, type your dropbox email address in the “To” field of the email editor. Add the Case or Deal name at the top of your message. For example, to forward the email to a case named Big Project, type “/case Big Project” at the top of the message. If the case does not exist KarmaCRM will create it.

You can see this email in the “Cases” tab.
